Assistive Hearing Devices Do You Have To Be A Licensed Hearing Aid Dispenser To Sell Assistive Listening Devices (ALDs)?

Do you have to be a licensed hearing aid dispenser to sell assistive listening devices (ALDs)? - assistive hearing devices

I know that audiologists and hearing Dealers may sell listening devices, but are ALD sales can sell to these licensed professionals or limited ALD retail business?

  1. EDL is not regulated, and therefore can be sold by anyone. For example, one special needs Radio Shack division and several Internet / Catalog-based companies. You can search for different products and shop around the prices - often give the impression that my patients.

  2. It depends on where you live. My understanding is that you can sell a product, provided it is not called a hearing aid or hearing aids. Local laws vary from state to state and country to country.
